Ion Ceban, the General Mayor has participated today in the opening of the international scientific-practical conference, first edition: "Strengthening the family - fundamental premise of promoting children's rights". The event is organized by LPA Chisinau and is dedicated to issues, achievements and development perspectives in the field of family and child protection, as well as dissemination of new technologies and good practices.
In his speech, the Mayor of the capital mentioned the need to combine the efforts of the authorities in order to create good living conditions in Chisinau, so that citizens, especially young people will decide to stay home, to support their families, without look for better alternatives abroad.
"I would like to have a support package for families in Chisinau, which includes all aspects where the authorities have competences (from children to adults, lonely elderly, large families, etc. This is possible both in terms of health care and through the strategies adopted at the municipal level on the whole social bloc. We should do our outmost to support kindergartens, schools, social services and vulnerable groups “said Ion Ceban.
In this context, Sergiu Oceretnii, the Interim Head of the Municipal Department for the Protection of Child's Rights, mentioned that the event is organized in the context of International Family Day, which this year is titled "Families and new technologies", representing that communication platform between the academic environment, civil society and specialists in the field of family and child protection, which are facing challenges like (migration, pandemic, economic and social insecurity, etc.).
At the end of the forum, recommendations and solutions from the Conference will be stated, which will be useful for the development of the profile policies, both at local and national level.
The international conference is held in partnership with the UNICEF Moldova, Moldova State University, "Alecu Russo" State University of Balti, Free International University of Moldova, State Pedagogical University "Ion Creanga" and "Alexei Mateevici" College of Chisinau, etc.
